David Cameron? Give me your opinion!?
Have just seen a trailer for ch4 dispatches talking about David Cameron called toff at the top – claiming that before he became tory leader he presented himself as a traditional hard line tory. The programme also mentions his membership of the ‘Bullingdon’ dining club at Oxford Uni – where I go, and I know the types of people in those clubs – elitist, irresonsible, drunken idiots (not like the rest of us honest) so what do you think.
The Bullingdon Club is a pro-hunting club at Oxford, membership of which is highly selective and based on family wealth. Their main claim to fame is their “tradition” of dressing up in a very expensive club evening suit, going to a restaurant and totally trashing it. Then using Daddy’s money to buy the silence of the owner. Doesn’t always work though because some have been done in the past for criminal damage.
There is a photo of Cameron in his Bullingdon Club gear, but strangely, the copyright owner has recently decided not to allow anyone to use it anymore. The Tories had concluded that the photo would cause them immense harm if used by their opponents because of the sheer arrogance in the faces of those photographed – not that I’m suggesting that they bought off the copyright owner, of course!
Cameron is a hard line Tory and all his recent “green” stuff is a cynical attempt to sway the more gullible voters.
