OK tell me are you happy with pushy bank staff?
now tell me the honest truth. I am a bank teller. and we are at present being targeting by those fat cats if you like…to sell a credit card a day or else we will get our heads bitten off! its that bad.! so I keep telling my manager that if the public want something, they can ask? right? I am happy to ask the customer, is there anything else I can help them with? but I am not allowed to say this…I must say “How else can I help you today?” and then I have to dive in on the poor customer and get them to come in to see the bank manager, so they can suck their blood and send them back out with a big fat loan!…so tell me is it just me or does it sound wrong!
I sympathise – I was a Building Society manager and everything is driven by targets. You have your regular customers and feel an idiot asking them the same over and over again, I always believed that if a customer wanted a product then they we’re quite able to ask for themselves. however sometimes the obvious didn’t always hit them and that meant that you we’re doing them a service, but only if they wanted it……I used to have to question the cashier as to why they did not take up the product and sometimes it was just a case of they didn’t want it (or wanted to think about it) that was never good enough For the “powers that be”
